I have the honour to inform you that the man Boehm who landed here ex Tenyo Maru" was not the German Secret Service Agent whom I suspected him of being before I had seen him.

My reason for suspecting him were the name and the extraordinary precautions taken by the Japanese in Japan ports when he was passing through.

The real Boehme, alias Boehm, alias Buhme, is me of the Secret Service Agents who accepnied the German Minister to Peking and travelled with him on the "Christian Bore" from the United States to Shanghai at which place I saw him land in the company of V. Hintze, and from that time onwards I have kept in touch with his movements as far as possible.

His description is as follows:-

short (about 5′ 4′′) fair, slight fair moustache, blue eyes, wears pincmez, stockily built, very bandy legged. Tery smartly dressed.

I have etc., (sd.) L. Cassel,

Captai,

General Staff, China Command.
